Do I have the right to be really mad at Youtube? It doesn’t seem fair at all to the poster.?
A Youtube user has been posting episodes of the Sailor Moon R Series in Japanese with English subtitles. I enjoyed watching the original, uncut Japanese episodes on Youtube as the user uploaded maybe 2 new ones a day. That is, until this user’s account was suspended and all her video’s deleted for infringing upon copywritten rules. Now, of course these episodes don’t belong to her, but she isn’t making any profit from posting them. She had disclaimers with every episode that said the episodes didn’t belong to her, and that they weren’t meant to infringe upon copywrite rules. And, the episodes aren’t available in stores, or anywhere. They’re in JAPANESE, with subtitles. It just doesn’t make sense to me why Youtube would target these videos. And if they were to delete every single video that infringed upon copywritten laws there were hardly be anything left. Any music video, homemade or not, doesn’t observe this rule. I don’t get it. Are they really afraid they’d get sued?
in japan they dont have copyright laws like in the us so lucky them they dont have to worry about issues like this
i sould have been fine sence the epesodes were the originals and have not yet been relesed in the us they dont have any copyright on them. however the part with ” Sailor Moon R” is perhaps copyrighted and they are starting to get fussy over things because they dont like to loose money (who would?)
