We would have never had all those inspirational and motivational songs to help us through the troubling and dark days, because that is what music basically does, it lifts us when we are down, motivates us and drives us forward.
Maybe it is time that you helped to inspire the next generation of talented individuals by purchasing a guitar for Christmas so the younger generation can learn to play guitar and inspire us for years to come. The guitar is not an easy instrument to play but the rewards when you learn to play guitar are amazing. People will literally insist that you play at every family gathering; people love to sit around and listen to someone who can play the guitar properly. It is one of the most beautiful instruments that is available and the sound is quite exquisite, it is one of the few instruments that can be played on its own and still sound wonderful.

What is slightly worrying is the dwindling numbers of people that want to take up an instrument these days, young children would rather sit around playing on their Xbox or Playstation than taking the time to learn to play guitar.
It is sad that the amount of new students we see coming for qualifications is dropping, we tend to see more mature students these day, maybe someone who got into playing so they could serenade someone and then found out the wonder that is playing this wonderful instrument.
What some people fail to understand also is that if these children take the time to learn to play guitar it could lead to something special. If you become really good at it you might get to join a band, perform some gigs and then there is always the chance that you might be noticed and signed up for a recording contract. Obviously there is no guarantee that you will make it as a professional guitar player just by picking up the instrument, but with some hard work and dedication nothing is beyond your reach.
There is nothing to say that someone who reads this article couldn’t pick up a guitar and in three or four years time feature in a mainstream band, but it won’t happen if you don’t try, so why not take the time to learn to play guitar.
